Brief info

Sue Sander is an Environmental/Regulatory Expert in Renewable Energy/Utilities, Infrastructure Systems/Structures-Integrated Waste Management, Sustainability, and Mitigation for Private/Public Sector Projects in the Pacific NW, across the US, and Worldwide. She is currently working as an Environmental Protection Consultant for Leidos Corporation/Federal Aviation Association for Airport expansion projects in the US. In addition, she is the Consultant/President of Advanced Thermolytic, Inc. (ATI) and is helping to develop an Environmental Innovation Company, which will provide innovative approaches to repurpose toxic sewage sludge, non-recyclable plastics, etc. and to generate Renewable Energy as a Key Resource in the PNW/US.

Over three+ decades, Ms. Sander was the Regional Director for Normandeau Associates, Inc. and was responsible for managing the King County Waste-to-Energy/Solid Waste Export Study, and the YSBA-Integrated Plan Assessment to Assess Water/Energy/Restoration Option for the Columbia/Snake Rivers. In addition, she was HDR’s Energy Marketing Manager/Sr. Scientist for Energy projects in the PNW/Alaska and WGI/URS/AECOM’s BD Director and Environmental Specialist for National/ International Renewable Energy Projects (e.g., Hydropower, Solar, and Wind). In addition, Ms. Sander was the CEO of Shapiro and Associates, Inc., and was responsible for management and direction of the Northwest’s largest environmental firm for decades. She was responsible for preparing thousands for environmental documents (e.g., EA/EIS, Mitigation Plans) for public/private sector projects. Ms. Sander helped to permit the Spokane Waste-to-Energy Facility and several Energy/Recycling Facilities (e.g., Battery Storage Systems, Renewable Energy Projects: Biomass, Hydropower- Rainbow Dam Hydro Facility, Solar-BPA/SCL, Wave- Snohomish Wave Energy, Wind-Zilka Energy, and Other Energy Systems (e.g., Nuclear-WPPSS) in the US and Internationally. In addition, she provided support for National/International Companies (e.g., Boeing, Costco, Microsoft, Nike) for Pollution Prevention/Climate Change/Life Cycle Assessments/Management Plans for their Supply/Product Manufacturing Facilities in China, Philippines, SE Asia, and the US.

Ms. Sander earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Western Washington University and an MBA (Business Administration/Sustainability)/Ph.D.(c)(Sustainability) from the University of Puget Sound.
