Brief info

Günter Dehoust is an environmental engineer, and since 1990 has been a senior researcher for the Oeko-Institute, one of Germany’s leading independent research and consulting organizations. He specializes in sustainable material flows, life cycle assessments, air pollution control, closed-loop materials, and waste management. He has managed projects on the material flow of biomass wastes, on the contribution of waste management to Germany’s sustainable development, and on the sustainable use of biomass for energy generation, and many others.

Prior to joining the Institute, Guenter worked for five years for the environmental authorities of the City of Dusseldorf and the Darmstadt regional council on the issues of contaminated site management, groundwater protection, and the approval and control of waste treatment facilities.

Guenter holds a degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences in Bad Kreuznach, and is recognized as a Diplom-Ingenieur, the equivalent of a Ph. D. He is the author or co-author of numerous technical reports and papers.
